Background & Design

Consists of a modified treadmill measuring approximately 75 by 28 inches (could be offered in a range of sizes to suit customers' needs).

The running surface is 20 by 57 inches, the speed range is 0.5 to 11 mph, the user weight limit is approximately 325 pounds, and the treadmill weight is approximately 275 pounds.

The device includes a phone, a detachable seat (for use by those who have trouble standing), and height-adjustable legs (to adapt the treadmill for use by individuals of different heights, including children).

The console is equipped with a computer screen that slides under the console for storage.

The control panel includes speed/incline buttons, a mileage/distance counter, a speedometer, a calorie counter, a touch-sensitive pulse-reading device, a "CALL 911" emergency button, and on/off controls for each side of the treadmill.

Handlebar assembly is wired to a hand-brake lever; Side supports are included for additional stability.

The frontal portion includes holders for a magazine, cup, and towel. Incorporated into each side of the base is a small platform that accommodates the user's foot.

With the platform in a raised position, the individual can operate the treadmill as if riding a conventional kick scooter. The treadmill can be used in a conventional manner for walking or jogging with the platforms in their lowered or "stowed" positions.
